Margie Barahona
She graduated of Marketing and advertising, has worked as a dancer, teacher and choreographer in Panama, her home country. Joined as an activist of R.Evolución Latina in September 2008 and had worked in several projects with the organization such as the December Open House, Three Kings day at Teatro SEA, Kids on Broadway, Free workshop series at New Dance Group, volunteer for the Easter Bonnet, participated in the Project Management workshop and plans to work and participate in many more event and projects to come.
Jean-Marc
He feels fortunate to be working full-time as a voice-over narrator, actor and singer-songwriter. He has joined R.Evolución Latina in late 2008, and has since adopted the DARE TO GO BEYOND motto… Jean-Marc can be heard on the radio, as the voice of a Dominican pitcher for Western Union, and as the voice of “Latino Man” for the National Fair Housing Alliance, or on TV as the narrator for “Rums of Puerto Rico”. He also recently narrated the Spanish audio book from Pulitzer-prize winning author Junot Díaz, “Negocios.” Jean-Marc has also made his mark on the music world, having published his song “One Way Street” on “The Punisher” video game in 2004, and the song “Canta Por Ella” with Bad Boy Latino in 2006. He has composed music for the musical comedy play “Manuel Vs. The Statue of Liberty,” written by Noemí De La Puente, which has been very well received at The Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre. Jean-Marc also recently wrote the song “Atrévete A Más,” which was inspired by the R.Evolución Latina motto “Dare To Go Beyond.” “I feel lucky to form part of such a wonderful and inspiring group. I look forward to growing with the organization and contributing more!”
Angela Cove
Angela is was born in the Dominican Republic and is proud to say that she's honored to be a participant of R.Evolución Latina. She'd worked in commercials and TV shows like, Law & Order, Hope & Faith, CSI, and a few others. Also She appeared in magazine advertising and sell Real State. Angela have two beautiful boys who are truly her life. In the past year she have become part of R.Evolución Latina, and since then “my life will never be the same.” Angela feels she have never had the honor to be associated with such a group of individuals who share the same dream and passion for the arts as she does. “Luis and his wonderful organization have given me the opportunity and inspiration to go BEYOND anything I have ever dreamed of. Watching Luis doing it all is an inspiration that I hope to follow for many years to come.”
Dalia Davi
A Bronx Native and a former child preacher, which is what propelled her unto the stage. She was lasted seen as a Sonnetier for "Shakespeare on Tap" and as Lady Macbeth for the Shakespeare Lab's 2008 showcase, both at The Public Theater. Also, Helena in the off Broadway production "Three Calla Lillies" for The Puerto Rican Traveling Theater, where she performed the play in English and Spanish, produced by Miriam Colon. In “Imagines, Imagines, Imagines” directed by Nelly Ferro, for La Casa De la Cultura in Cozumel Mexico, where she lived for a year studying the Mayan Culture. Dalia has been part of Ping Chong & Company’s “Secret History” Project for Lincoln Center and NYC tour, also acted in many other shows. She has been featured in the cover of Latin Week NY magazine and is the recipient of the 2008 HOLA award for best performance by a featured actress for her work on "Three Cala Lilies." What Dalia is most proud of in her artistic career, is her work with the "R.Evolución Latina Shakespeare Project" and is eternally thankful to RL for making one of her dreams a reality. Dalia strongly believes that R.Evolución Latina will pioneer the much-awaited "Latin Renaissance" and is thrilled to be in the cusp of this movement. On a personal note, Dalia enjoys long strolls in the beach and talking to the moon.
Ellie Diez
She has been invigorated by her participation in R.Evolución Latina and lending a small hand to its honorable efforts fills her with joy! Ellie is a founder of Loisaida Cortos Latino Film Festival, a yearly festival that features awarding winning short films by Latino filmmakers in New York City and since 2005 in Spain, Belgium and Brazil. She is also an actor and was recently seen in several stage productions such as 7-Eleven at The Barrow Group Theater, Repo-The Genetic Opera at The Wings Theater. She has also appeared in several films such as the feature film Homeland by Barataria Productions, the Official Selection at numerous film festivals where she played the saucy and electric next-door neighbor, Sheila. She will be in the stage reading of Immaculate Conception by award winning filmmaker Hugo Perez at this year’s Tribeca All Access. She was recently awarded a scholarship to The National Association of Latino Independent Producer’s 2008 Producer’s Academy, there she developed and is now producing the feature film ‘Kingsbridge’ by Jose Casado. She thanks her parents Nelly & Alcibiades and her husband Jeff for their never-ending support and inspiration.
Marlena Fitzpatrick
A strong player in the political world, Marlena Fitzpatrick-García started her activist work for our community at a young age. She earned a Bachelor's in Arts from the University of Puerto Rico, Cayey Campus in 1998 followed by a Master's in Labor Relations in 2000. Besides organizing the labor movement and raising her voice for our community, she also dedicates her time for the arts. Her passion for the arts will earn her a second Master's in Fine Arts from the University of Texas in Bilingual Creative Writing. She currently works as an organizing manager for an actor's union. Her dream is to represent Latino artists with respect, dignity and love, advocate for their rights of fair compensation, and to continue her activist mission for the arts.
Edlyn González
She has been a Ballet and Jazz teacher for children. She has danced with Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico and Drama Danza de Puerto Rico. Her dance credits include The Nutcracker, Les Sylphides, Carnival of the Animals and the Little Mermaid. Her musicals theater credits include A Chrous Line, A Christmas Carol and Little Shop of Horrors. Edlyn has been part of R.Evolución Latina since the beginnings. She is grateful to be part of an amazing group, which developed and became stronger in such a short time giving its activists the chance to give back to the community doing what they love. DTGB
